Mataora Services

 MATAORA Services – Trauma Counselling
30 minutes and over • Free 

Trauma Counselling is a specialised field of counselling which supports people address, come to terms with, and recover from a traumatic event (PTSD). This specially trained practitioner, with a mental health background, can assist someone who is struggling in response to a traumatic event resulting in poor life outcomes for the individual.
Ages: 10 – 65+ years of age.

 MATAORA Services – Peer Support Advocacy
30 minutes and over • Free 

Peer Support Advocacy performs a range of tasks through individual and group encounters to assist tangata whaiora of mental health and addiction services in regaining control over their own lives and over their own recovery process. The PSA role focuses in recovery and ongoing coping skills, serve as a whaiora advocate, provide information and peer support in their rohe, hapu, iwi and community.

 MATAORA Services – Addiction Counselling
30 minutes and over • Free 

This Co-existing Problems Counselling Service is targeted for whaiora aged 10-65+ years of age as to not exclude whānau due to age requirements needing a service, seeing as intergenerational factors are considered with mental health and addiction and that whānau inclusive practice is recommended.
