Koro Morehu addressing the room at our 2017 Kaumatua Hui

The land trembles upon the felling of a great chief pulled to and fro from within his stature
Our pillar that has fallen this day.
Farewell Koro from this world return to the spirits that will guide to your resting place
Rest with those who await Dr Morehu Ngatoko Rahipere, Ngāti Ranginui – rest my once aloft pillar

The arrangements are as follows;
Morehu will lay in state at Wairoa Marae, Tauranga at 3pm on Tuesday 20th February. At 8am on Wednesday 21st our Koroua will be taken to Huria Marae, Tauranga where he will spend the duration of his Tangihanga. The funeral service will be on Friday the 23rd of February at 7.30am following that our Koroua will be taken to his final resting place at Motuōpae.

Nā te whānau Tokona, Ngatoko Rahipere.
Ngāi Tamarawaho, Ngāti Rangi, Ngāti Kahu

He pata ua no te Rangi ka Hiiritia ki te Whenua, He auahi no te Whenua ka hiiritia ki te Rangi.

A minute particle of rain from Heaven falls and is received by the earth becomes part of the earth; a wisp of vapour from the earth rises and is received by the heavens and becomes part of the heavens.
