Ko wai matou?

Te Roopu Whakamana o Nga Hapu o Ngati Ranginui is the mandated entity with the authority to represent the Hapu of Ngati Ranginui and affiliate hapu in negotiations with the Crown for the comprehensive settlement of all Ngati Ranginui historical Treaty claims.

It is the desire of each hapu to ensure that the integrity, identity and interests of each hapu is maintained and protected.
The Crown prefers to negotiate with large natural groups. A large natural group is usually an iwi or a cluster of hapu with a significant population, and a large distinctive claim area.

In October 2010, Te Roopu Whakamana o Nga Hapu o Ngati Ranginui released the first of their bi-monthly panui/newsletter titled ‘Te Kumara Vine’ which was produced to keep Ngati Ranginui people informed on Raupatu activities and current news in their negotiations with the Crown. Te Kumara Vine is also an educational publication that highlights some key terminology used in Raupatu that helps us to understand and get us interested in Ngati Ranginui Raupatu matters.
