With the uncertainly and unpredictability of Covid-19 and its impact in Aotearoa and throughout the world the trustees of Ngāti Ranginui Fisheries trust have adopted provisions under the COVID-19 Response (Requirements For Entities—Modifications and Exemptions) Act 2020 (Act) which specifically applies to the Trust, as it is a Mandated Iwi Organisation. Therefore, we have allowed for voting papers to be received and returned by email. Below is the PROCESS YOU MUST FOLLOW IN ORDER FOR YOUR VOTE TO BE COUNTED AS VALID. FAQ’s (frequently asked questions Question: Why is the Trust changing the process? Answer: Covid-19 has had a major impact around the world on many industries. Post is one, and we cannot guarantee fair and equitable process for our beneficiaries because changing alert levels in NZ and Australia have an impact on delivery times for items posted. Furthermore, one of our usual return processes is to have a ballot box available at our AGM for votes, however we cannot guarantee this option as a change in alert level will have an impact on this. Question: If my vote is invalid will I be notified? Answer: E Kao, No. As it is with the ballot voting, invalid votes are noted and recorded but not informed. It is important that you follow all instructions. Question: Does this mean the trust deed is invalid? Answer: E Kao, No. We are adopting laws created to mitigate the effects of Covid-19 in NZ. We will however, undertake a process to review our Deed post the AGM. This will be discussed at our AGM on March 28, 2021. Question: Will the AGM be called off if there are changes to alert levels? Answer: E Kao, No. Should alert levels change whereby we cannot meet a kanohi, we will move to a Zoom AGM. We must continue with this process.
